Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon has praised the role of Tantita Security Services Limited in securing Nigeria’s oil infrastructure.
Mr Solomon is the Senior Policy Adviser to the Delta State Governor. He also serves as State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.
He spoke during an appearance on Beyond The Headlines on TVC.
He said the appointment of Tantita has significantly improved the nation’s economy. It has also restored peace across the Niger Delta.

Mr Solomon commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the decision. He said the President entrusted the surveillance of critical oil installations to the right hands.
Tantita is led by High Chief Government Ekpemupolu. He is popularly known as Tompolo.
According to Mr Solomon, the security outfit has played a pivotal role. It has curbed crude oil theft. It has boosted oil production. It has increased government revenue at the federal, state, and local government levels.
Mr Solomon described Tompolo as an illustrious son of the Niger Delta. He said his contributions to the region’s struggle have now translated into tangible gains.
These gains are both economic and security-related. They benefit the entire country.
He said the activities of Tantita have created employment opportunities. Thousands of youths across the Niger Delta have been empowered.
The outfit has also reduced insecurity. It has ensured the uninterrupted flow of crude oil.
“There is peace in the region, oil is flowing properly, and a lot of young men have been empowered. The President’s confidence in Tompolo is also a demonstration of trust in the people of the Niger Delta,” Mr Solomon stated.
The former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly also praised other administration initiatives. He listed policies benefiting the Niger Delta and the Ijaw people.
He cited the legal backing given to the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko. He also mentioned the establishment of an oil and gas medical facility in Benikruku.
These projects, he said, demonstrate the government’s commitment to the region.
Mr Solomon further defended the Federal Government’s economic reforms. He said they have released more resources to the various tiers of government.
The reforms, he argued, have laid the foundation for Nigeria’s long-term economic stability.
He maintained that the reforms may require patience. But they are designed to deliver lasting benefits to Nigerians. They should be sustained.
“Nigeria is too big for trial and error. These reforms prioritise the country’s long-term stability over immediate applause. The Nigerian people are the ultimate beneficiaries, and continuity is necessary to consolidate the gains already being recorded,” he said.
## Warning Against Reversal
He warned that reversing key policies would be harmful. He specifically mentioned the removal of fuel subsidy.
Reversing such policies, he said, would undermine the progress already achieved. He stressed that sustained reforms are essential.
These reforms, he concluded, are necessary to guarantee continued economic growth and national development.
