Step 1: Create an Account

1. Visit NELFUND’s website at http://nelf.gov.ng.
2. Click “Apply Now” and then “Get Started.”
3. Confirm your Nigerian citizenship.
4. Provide your educational information by selecting your school and entering your matriculation number.
5. Click “Verify with JAMB” and enter your JAMB details.
6. Create an account with your email address and password.
7. Click the email verification link sent to your email.

Step 2: Complete Your Profile at the NELFUND student loan Portal. 

1. Log in using your email and password.
2. Update your contact details, including phone number, residential address, state of residence, and local government area.
3. Update your educational details by selecting your institution and entering your matriculation number.
4. Verify your Bank Verification Number (BVN), select your bank name, and enter your account number.

Step 3: Apply for the NELFUND student loan

1. Click “Request for Student Loan” on the homepage.
2. Indicate if you need an upkeep allowance in addition to tuition fees.
3. Upload your admission letter at the NELFUND student loan Portal . (compulsory), while uploading your student ID and institution invoice is optional.
4. Agree to the terms and conditions and click “Continue.”
5. Review the loan overview, agree to the terms & conditions, and GSI mandate, then click “Submit Application.”
6. Track your application status by clicking “Loans” on the portal.
