In an effort to enhance workers’ welfare, several Nigerian governors have committed to implementing the newly approved ₦70,000 minimum wage, with some surpassing this federal standard.
President Bola Tinubu approved the wage increase on 29 July 2024, following negotiations between the Tripartite Committee, which includes representatives from Organised Labour, the private sector, and the federal government.
