Wike Reportedly Plans to Unseat Tinubu in 2027, Eyes Fintiri and Makinde as Plan B.

Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State, has reportedly been confiding in friends and allies about his ambitious plans to unseat President Bola Tinubu before the 2027 presidential election.

According to Jackson Ude, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Wike believes that Tinubu’s health may deteriorate to the point where he cannot run for re-election, thereby paving the way for Wike to secure the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Siminalayi Fubara Declares Victory Over Political Detractors

Wike is said to be preparing for two scenarios. If Tinubu is unable to contest, Wike plans to position himself as the PDP’s presidential candidate. However, if Tinubu decides to run, Wike’s backup plan involves promoting Governors Ahmadu Umar Fintiri of Adamawa State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as the PDP’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates, respectively. This strategy, according to Wike, would present a formidable challenge to Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Informants revealed to Ude that Wike’s ongoing conflict with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is a key part of this broader strategy. The goal is to remove Fubara and replace him with a loyalist who will ensure that Rivers State’s votes are securely delivered to either Wike or Tinubu in 2027.

“Wike’s long battle with Governor Sim Fubara is primarily aimed at removing the Rivers Governor and installing his lackey who will ensure Rivers Votes are protected for either himself or President Bola Tinubu in 2027,” Ude reported.

This political maneuvering underscores the high stakes and intense rivalries that are already shaping up ahead of Nigeria’s next presidential election. As the political landscape evolves, the alliances and strategies being formed now could significantly impact the country’s future leadership.

“As of the time of this report, Ejes Gist News cannot independently verify the claim; however, Ejes Gist News is aware that the FCT minister is still nursing the ambition of becoming the president, which he lost during the primary elections in 2023 to Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.”
