Other nominees affected by the delay are Idi Mukhtar Maiha, nominated for Livestock Development; Yusuf Ata for State Housing and Urban Development; and Suwaiba Ahmad for State Education.

In an official statement, Senator Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, attributed the postponement to the need for additional time to finalize required documentation for each nominee.

The statement, titled “Postponement of Ministerial Screening,” read: “The scheduled screening of ministerial nominees has been postponed by the Senate to allow nominees to complete all necessary documentation and pre-screening exercises.”

The rescheduled screening will now take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM.
