Gombe Police Parade 13-Year-Old, Two Others for Assault on Minors
The Gombe State Police Command has paraded a 13-year-old boy and two other suspects, Usman Husseini (18) and Mohammed Yaya (45), for allegedly assaulting minors in different incidents.
According to ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the Police Public Relations Officer, the 13-year-old suspect assaulted an 8-year-old girl in Akko Local Government Area, while Husseini allegedly engaged in inappropriate conduct with a 4-year-old girl in Hammadu-kafi quarters, Gombe. Yaya is accused of similar misconduct involving a 10-year-old girl in Tumu Akko Local Government Area on two separate occasions.

The suspects were arrested and taken for medical examination, and the cases are under investigation. The police spokesman assured that the cases will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
Abdullahi noted that the government is taking the issue of such misconduct seriously and the Department of Public Prosecutions is working to tackle these offenses and other forms of abuse under the Child Protection policy.
