The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has set the starting date for the 2023 school-based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on Monday, May 8th.

The Head of National Office, Patrick Areghan, made the announcement during a pre-examination press conference held in Lagos State. The exams are expected to conclude on Friday, June 23rd, allowing candidates a seven-week period to showcase their academic abilities.
Areghan stated that a total of 1,621,853 candidates from 20,851 government and private schools have registered for the examination. This announcement offers students ample time to prepare and plan for the examination, which is a significant step in their academic journey.
