President Tinubu, who had embarked on a trip to China on August 29, 2024, made an unannounced detour to London after passing through Dubai. His presence in London was confirmed on September 11, when he met King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. However, the video, which first appeared on X (formerly Twitter), captured Tinubu leaving the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital, assisted by aides, including his Aide-de-Camp, Lt Colonel Nurudeen Yusuf.

The Lindo Wing, renowned for its private healthcare services, has been a key destination for high-profile medical treatments since its opening in 1937. Though known for its maternity care, the hospital also offers specialized surgeries.
Tinubu’s health has been a persistent subject of speculation. His medical trips to France, the United States, and the United Kingdom between 2020 and 2022 sparked rumors about his condition. Even before the 2023 elections, many questioned his fitness to govern.
In recent years, Tinubu has undergone various surgeries, including a notable knee surgery at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in 2021. These recurrent trips abroad have drawn criticism from citizens who expect more focus on domestic healthcare and governance issues.
The latest revelations about his London visit have further amplified concerns about his ability to fully engage in Nigeria’s pressing challenges as President.
