An anonymous student informed Ejes Gist News that a university rescue team managed to pull some of the trapped students from the rubble, though many sustained serious injuries. The injured have since been taken to the hospital for treatment.

“One victim remains trapped inside, and efforts are ongoing to rescue them. The victim reportedly made a phone call from under the rubble, pleading for help,” the student revealed.

The Dean of Students from UNIBEN is currently on site, leading the rescue efforts in collaboration with the university team.

As of now, no official statement has been released by the university regarding the cause of the collapse or the exact number of those affected. Rescue operations are still underway.
