Tinubu Aide Accuses Arise TV of Bias Amid Sowore’s Fresh Political Allegations
The presidency has leveled accusations against Arise Television, charging the news network with exhibiting preferential treatment toward Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Ejes Gist News reports that Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, made this formal accusation in a statement posted via his official handle on 𝕏 on Monday.
According to Daniel Bwala, who serves as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, presenters on Arise Television routinely express strong opinions when evaluating other political candidates, yet they adopt a distinctly different approach whenever they discuss Peter Obi.

The presidential spokesman asserted that discussions concerning the former Governor of Anambra State often sound like political surrogates offering strategic guidance to their principal. He further contended that the broadcast television station has failed to air any trending news reports considered adverse to Peter Obi since he officially became a presidential candidate.
In his social media post, Bwala wrote:
“Is anyone watching Arise News@ARISEtv morning show gossip trending? They have strong opinion on all the candidates, but when it came to @PeterObi, what they have is advice; even the tone of their voices when talking about peter Obi is like surrogates advising their principal.”
Bwala added in his statement:
“I dare to say that they never had any so-called stories trending adverse to peter Obi since Obi has been on the ballot.”
Omoyele Sowore Launches Fresh Attack on Obi and Baba-Ahmed
Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has launched a fresh political attack against Peter Obi and his 2023 vice-presidential running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed.
Sowore publicly alleged that Baba-Ahmed was well aware of what he described as shortcomings in the former Anambra State governor before ever agreeing to run alongside him on the political ticket.
The AAC presidential candidate made these allegations in a post published on his personal 𝕏 account. His statements came in response to recent comments attributed to Baba-Ahmed concerning Peter Obi, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, and several other Nigerian political figures.
Datti Baba-Ahmed, who served as Peter Obi’s running mate on the Labour Party (LP) ticket during the 2023 presidential election, had reportedly argued that these politicians could not deliver the essential changes that Nigeria required.
In response to those claims, Sowore maintained that Baba-Ahmed’s recent remarks directly reflected specific information he had acquired while working closely alongside Obi during their joint presidential campaign.
