Ahon, DOPF Celebrate Aniagwu on Birthday, Praise His Role in Governance
The Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, and the Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) have felicitated the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, on his birthday, praising his contributions to governance and his relationship with the media.
Ahon, in a birthday message, described Aniagwu as a versatile professional whose experience in journalism, business and public service had continued to add value to governance in Delta State.
Ejes Gist News reports that Ahon said Aniagwu’s background in journalism had equipped him with the skills to analyse issues, engage different audiences and communicate government policies in ways that make them accessible to the public.
According to him, the commissioner’s public speaking ability and understanding of current affairs had also contributed to his effectiveness as a government spokesman and political communicator.
Ahon said Aniagwu had remained an important voice in the articulation and explanation of policies and programmes of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration, particularly through his engagement with the public on government activities.

He said Aniagwu had built a career across journalism, business and public service, demonstrating professionalism, versatility and commitment to duty in the different areas.
“Aniagwu has built a career that cuts across journalism, business and public service, and in each of these areas, he has demonstrated competence and an understanding of the demands of the profession,” Ahon said.
He added that the commissioner’s strength as a communicator extended beyond his command of language to his ability to examine issues from different perspectives and explain them in a manner that ordinary people could understand.
Similarly, the Delta Online Publishers Forum congratulated Aniagwu on his birthday, describing him as an articulate, knowledgeable, accessible and media-friendly public servant.
The felicitation was contained in a birthday congratulatory letter signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the forum, Emmanuel Enebeli and Shedrack Onitsha, respectively.
DOPF said Aniagwu had distinguished himself in public service through his commitment to the development of Delta State and his understanding of the strategic role of communication in governance.
The forum commended his ability to communicate government policies and programmes, provide clarification on issues of public interest and engage stakeholders in ways that promote better understanding of government activities.
DOPF also praised Aniagwu for maintaining a cordial and mutually respectful relationship with the media, particularly online publishers in Delta State.
The forum said his accessibility and willingness to engage journalists had helped promote dialogue between the government and the media, while recognising online journalism as an increasingly important platform for public enlightenment and development.
DOPF specifically expressed appreciation for Aniagwu’s relationship with the forum, saying his engagement with its members had contributed to an atmosphere of dialogue, mutual respect and constructive partnership between the online media community and the Delta State Government.
Both Ahon and DOPF wished Aniagwu good health, renewed strength and many more years of service to Delta State and humanity.
Ahon also prayed for greater fulfilment for the commissioner and urged him to continue bringing his experience and knowledge to bear on the development of the state.
