Governor Adeleke Leads Osun State Governorship Collation with 177,572 Votes
Osogbo, Osun State — Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is maintaining a commanding lead in the ongoing collation of results from Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State, according to the latest figures from the Nigeria Elections Intelligence System.
As of the time of this report, results from 303 of the state’s 332 wards have been recorded and verified by Ejes Gist News.
Governor Adeleke has secured 177,572 votes, which accounts for 50.5 per cent of the total votes tallied so far. His closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has garnered 158,588 votes, representing 45.1 per cent of the votes counted. Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) trails in third place with 5,917 votes.
The collation process is currently underway across all 30 local government areas of Osun State. However, results from some outstanding wards have yet to be incorporated into the final tally. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reported that 43.41 per cent of polling units have submitted their results as the collation process nears its conclusion.

Voter Turnout and Valid Ballots
According to the collated figures, Osun State has a total of 845,100 registered voters. Out of this number, 361,500 voters were accredited to participate in the election, resulting in a voter turnout of 42.8 per cent. A total of 351,500 votes were deemed valid, while 7,200 ballots were rejected by the electoral commission.
The election, which saw Governor Adeleke seeking a second term in office, was marked by his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party ahead of the poll. The INEC had cleared 14 political parties to participate in the election after the PDP and Labour Party failed to field candidates.
Governor Adeleke is running alongside Kola Adenusi as his deputy, while Bola Oyebamiji, a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), is contesting with Benjamin Adereti as his running mate.
Final Results Pending Completion of Collation
The final outcome of the Osun State governorship election will be determined once all outstanding results have been collated and verified. The INEC is expected to formally announce and declare the winner through its Returning Officer at the state collation centre, pending the submission of results from the remaining wards.
