Jigawa Governor Suspends Commissioner Accused of Adultery Amid Investigation.
The Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi, has suspended the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, following allegations of being caught with a married woman in an uncompleted building.

The announcement came through a statement issued on Saturday by Malam Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government, confirming that the commissioner’s suspension will remain in effect pending the outcome of an investigation.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday evening, when Sankara was apprehended by officials of the Kano State Hisbah Board, a religious law enforcement agency, which enforces Islamic values in Kano.
Dr Abba Sufi, the Director-General of the Hisbah Board, confirmed that Sankara was found in compromising circumstances with the married woman.
Sankara Denies Allegations
Sankara, however, has rejected the accusations, calling them “false, baseless, and malicious.” He claimed that the reports are a calculated attempt to damage his reputation.
The Jigawa government has yet to release additional details about the investigation or the identities involved.

However, this incident has generated significant public attention, given the involvement of the Hisbah Board, which is known for enforcing moral conduct, especially within northern Nigerian states operating under Sharia law.
