President Tinubu Appoints Seven to Key Positions in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs

 

In a move aimed at bolstering the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven distinguished Nigerians to lead various key agencies and initiatives. This strategic decision is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance social welfare and humanitarian services across the nation.

  1. Dr. Badamasi Lawal has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). Dr. Lawal, who holds a doctorate degree in education, brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as a commissioner in Katsina State.
  2. Ms. Funmilola Olotu will serve as the Programme Manager of the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office. Ms. Olotu holds a master’s degree in business administration and is currently the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.
  3. Ms. Aishat Alubankudi has been appointed as the Programme Manager for the Grant for Vulnerable Groups. With a bachelor’s degree in community development, Ms. Alubankudi has significant experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.
  4. Princess Aderemi Adebowale will take on the role of Programme Manager for the Home Grown School Feeding initiative. Holding a doctorate degree, Princess Adebowale is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and has previously served as a local government chairperson.
  5. Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam has been named Programme Manager of the National Cash Transfer Office. Mr. Imam, who holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy, has extensive experience as a chief accountant at Northern Dairies Ltd and as a bank manager.
  6. Mr. Ayuba Gufwan will serve as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for People with Disabilities. Mr. Gufwan, who holds an LLB, is the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre in Jos.
  7. Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello has been appointed Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons. Ms. Binta, who holds a master’s degree in public administration, has served as the Secretary-General of ALGON and as Permanent Secretary in both the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

These appointments reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to addressing social issues and enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians, particularly the most vulnerable populations. The new appointees are expected to bring their expertise and dedication to their respective roles, driving forward the ministry’s initiatives and ensuring effective implementation of policies aimed at social investment and humanitarian aid.
