Tinubu Announces 11 Appointments: Full List and Portfolios
President Tinubu Names New Appointees to National Agencies.
This morning, President Bola Tinubu rolled out appointments aimed at rejigging the administration of various key national agencies. The appointments represent a melting pot of seasoned technocrats, former lawmakers, and experts in sundry fields, showing his commitment to competence and regional balance.
Holders of the Key Appointments and Portfolios:
1.) Mr. Silas Agara: DG, National Directorate of Employment;
Agara, a former Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, is joining the NDE with his political experience and acumen. He was an important part of the Tinubu-Shettima campaign as the Director of the Independent Campaign Council.
2). Mr. Umar Ibrahim Mohammed: Director-General, Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA):
An architect by training but a professional in construction technology and environmental science, Mohammed has come full steam to lead NIHSA.
3). Mr. Baffa Dan Agundi: Director-General, National Productivity Centre (NPC):
Agundi is an erstwhile majority leader of the Kano State House of Assembly with a strong background in law, having manned the position of Principal Registrar of the Kano State High Court of Justice.
4). Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo: Executive Secretary/CEO, National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA):
Being an engineer specialized in community and social development, under NALDA, Adebayo will work to improve agricultural land development.
5). Mr. Saleh Abubakar: Director-General, National Agency for the Great Green Wall:
Abubakar’s experience will be very instrumental in guiding efforts at fighting desertification and ensuring sustainable land management in the affected areas.
6). Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi: Project Coordinator, Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project: A former Commissioner for Special Duties, Culture, and Tourism in Ondo State, Dr. Adekanmbi is a member of the NES and brings enormous environmental experience to HYPREP.
7). Mr. Tosin Adeyanju: Executive Secretary, National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF):
Mr. Adeyanju will direct the refusal of money accruing from national lotteries and the strategic disbursement of funds.
8). Oluwaseun Faleye: NSITF Managing Director/CEO:
The legal expert in corporate finance is geared to be at the helm of NSITF and ensure financial stability and growth.
9). Mrs. Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay: NSITF Executive Director, Operations:
She is a former lawmaker and Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and Job Creation. Alli-Macaulay shall drive operational efficiency within the NSITF.
10). Ms. Omolola Bridget Oloworaran: Appointed Director-General, National Pension Commission, PenCom:
The finance and banking expert has been appointed to the position pending confirmation by the Senate.
11). Mr. Jobson Ewalefoh: Appointed Director-General, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission ICRC:
Walefoh’s appointment is also subject to Senate confirmation. Sources close to the development said that he had been given a mandate to imbue regulatory oversight into the infrastructure concessions.
