Suspected Ammunition Courier Arrested In Zamfara

A 29-year-old suspected ammunition courier known as Zayyanu Abdullahi, has been arrested by security operatives in Zamfara State.

The suspect was arrested on October 13, 2024, along the Anka-Bagega road while allegedly conveying ammunition.

His arrest was made by troops in collaboration with the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards, ZSCPG, after a tip-off from local residents on suspicious movements in the area.

Security sources said Abdullahi, from Shinkafi Local Government Area, was intercepted at a snap roadblock arranged by the security team.

He was said to have been found in possession of 35 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition wrapped in a wrapper during the search.

Preliminary investigations, it was gathered, revealed that Abdullahi was on his way to deliver the ammunition to one Wadata in Bagega town.

Authorities have since taken the suspect into custody and heightened efforts to arrest Wadata and others who may be connected to the case.
