Court sends two PDP chieftains, Aminu Umar Gadiya and Saleh Hussaini Gamawa to prison over N142m bribe scam
Aminu Umar Gadiya and Saleh Hussaini Gamawa, two leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state of Bauchi, were found guilty and given two-year prison terms by the Federal High Court in Bauchi for crimes that involved conspiracy and the laundering of N142, 460,000.
On March 2, Justice Hassan Dikko found the defendants guilty of the two counts laid against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Wilson Uwujaren, the INEC’s head of media and publicity, revealed this in a statement on Saturday.
The defendants were initially charged on June 4, 2018, and then again on October 16, 2018, with two counts for allegedly accepting more than N142 million to sway the outcome of the 2015 presidential elections in Bauchi State.
The pair’s sentences will begin to run concurrently on March 2, 2023.

The defendants had entered not guilty pleas to the accusations levelled against them, allowing the case to move forward to a full trial.
On January 17, this year, the prosecution asked the court to convict the defendants as charged in the final written addresses that were filed, exchanged, and adopted following the conclusion of the evidence.
But Justice Dikko deferred making a decision until March 2, 2023.
