Peter Obi responds to FG’s treason allegation
On Tuesday, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, refuted Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information’s claim that he is attempting to incite an uprising in Nigeria.
Obi stated in a statement that Mohammed’s claim is “false.”

“It is extremely unfortunate that these persistent efforts to portray me in a manner inconsistent with who I am and my core values are emanating from such prestigious quarters. “Minister Lai’s accusation that I stoke insurrection is completely malicious and false,” Obi stated.
He added, “I have never discussed or encouraged anyone to undermine the Nigerian state; I have never backed or advocated any action against the Nigerian state.” The initiators of these actions have increasingly utilised their official positions and agents to level false accusations against me.

“It is documented that I have always advocated for peace and issue-based campaigns, and that I have never campaigned on the basis of ethnicity or religion. I am committed to due process and am seeking redress in court at this time.”
