Oldest Catholic Priest in Nigeria, Rt. Rev. Monsignor Thomas Oleghe, Passes Away at 104.
Rt. Rev. Monsignor Thomas Oleghe, the oldest Catholic priest in Nigeria, has passed away at the age of 104.
According to a statement from the Bishop of Auchi, Gabriel Dunia, Oleghe died peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, November 24, 2024, at approximately 2:30 am.

The Diocese of Auchi expressed deep gratitude for Oleghe’s long and dedicated life, acknowledging his unwavering service to the Catholic faith.
In the statement, Bishop Dunia said: “With gratitude to God for a life well lived on earth, I hereby inform you of the passing of Rt. Rev. MSGR Thomas Oleghe, the oldest Catholic priest in Nigeria as of today, to the great beyond at approximately 2:30 am this morning, November 24, 2024.”
The funeral of the esteemed cleric will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, as confirmed by the Diocese of Auchi.
