Meanwhile, It is feared that approximately 22 Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) cards for the Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Rivers State are missing.
Over 6865 of the state’s voting machines have been successfully reconfigured for Saturday’s elections.
It was discovered that three of the accreditation machines were irreparably damaged and therefore cannot be used for the elections.
Johnson Alalibo, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, told Ejes Gist News Nigeria and election observer representatives that the development would not affect the process.
Alalibo stated that the commission has sufficient backup systems and that the absence of any would not affect the operation in any way.
He stated that the electoral official would prevent criminals from using the missing devices.
