Ogbonnaya who managed the accounts in question confirmed that huge sums were transferred from the CBN to companies linked to Mrs. Emefiele.

She listed several companies involved in these transactions including Amswinh Resources and Solution, Limelight Dimensional Service Limited, Omec Support Service Limited and Mango Farm.

“The accounts are for Mrs. Margaret Emefiele, the ex-CBN governor’s wife,” Ogbonnaya said. “The companies sent transfer instructions to my email and Margaret Emefiele is the beneficiary and owner of the money.”

She further testified that Mrs. Emefiele issued transfer instructions through email, phone calls and WhatsApp. The court admitted the transaction details as exhibit and the trial continues today.

In a related development, the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has adjourned ruling on Emefiele’s application to travel abroad for medical treatment. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) opposed this application, saying Emefiele might flee if his International Passport is released.
