Prince Young Piero Omatseye: A Profile

Prince Young Piero Omatseye, popularly called “Pacesetter” and known internationally as Amb. Young Piero, was born on 15 July 1983 in Sapele, Delta State.

He belongs to the Prince Asule Omatseye Dynasty of Deghele in Warri South West and Warri North, as well as the Fregene family of Amukpe, Sapele, and the Emefe family of Jesse, both in Delta Central, Delta State.

Although he was slow to grasp academic work during his elementary school years, Omatseye showed exceptional proactivity, intelligence, industry and leadership at Bishop Ajayi Chrather Primary School and Okotie-Eboh Grammar School, both in Sapele, and at Emmanuel Foundation, Benin, between 1987 and 2007. He developed reading and writing skills late, while in secondary school, but did not see that as a limitation.

He later gained admission to the International School of Aviation, where he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Cargo Handling (Lagos/Ghana) in 2006/2007. His ambition to be a pacesetter and do things differently from others secured him admission to Wisconsin and other international universities, but financial constraints prevented him from taking up those offers.

Omatseye, who does not allow disappointment to defeat him, opted for Novena University, Ogume, in Delta State, where he earned a B.Sc in Intelligence and Security Studies in 2014.

At the early age of 26, he established his own organisation as an entrepreneur in 2007. The business, Young Piero Tours International (Young Piero Organization), was incorporated in 2008 and brought him popularity through his achievements.

He has received several awards for his work, including the Youngest Stakeholder in Niger Delta (2009), the African Most Influential Youth in Ghana (2010), the Nigerian Dream Personality Award (2016) and the Icon of Democracy in Nigeria Award (2017/2018).

Driven by a desire to build a world that matters to everyone, he focuses on nation building and currently prepares and mentors young people globally. He chose service to humanity over taking a government appointment or a well-paid job.

He founded Jet Age Nation Builders, a leading initiative in partnership with World Youth Organization and Earthright International. He also founded Rebrand Nigeria, Niger Delta Coalition Projects and Young Piero Foundation, through which he supports students in tertiary institutions without raising funds from the public.

His success in developing ideas and building the people who will build the nation earned him global recognition. He was made the West African Ambassador to the Youth for Human Rights International, USA, and Nigeria Coordinator of the Youth Assembly at the United Nations. Numerous organisations abroad have invited him to high-profile conferences and summits, but he accepts only those focused on nation building.

Omatseye is a humanitarian, pacesetter, encourager, philanthropist, educator, conflict-resolution analysis, human rights educator, mobiliser and motivator.

He is a coordinator of the Nigeria Rebirth Project (NRP), an organisation committed to delivering a super nation. He is also the Nigeria coordinator for Earthright International and United for Human Rights.

His desire to serve his people led him into politics in 2013. He is a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling political party. He serves as Secretary of the APC Mobilising Committee and Youth Director of Mainstream Delta APC (MDA), Delta South Senatorial District. He is currently pursuing an M.Sc.

Omatseye is married to Precious Young Omatseye, from Esaba and Otutwama in Ugheli South, and they have children.

His favourite quote is:

” The world I am working to create is a world that should be of interest to everyone of us.
