The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally challenged the re-election victory of Governor Ademola Adeleke following the August 15 Osun State governorship election, as notice of the petitions was officially posted on the board of the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo.

The official legal notices were displayed on Monday, September 7, following an earlier confirmation by tribunal secretary Pefe Belemore that the documents would be publicly posted before noon. Secretariat staff were observed inside the courtroom as administrative preparations for tribunal sittings continued.

Two separate legal challenges have been posted regarding the August 15 election outcome that returned Governor Adeleke for another term. The main APC challenge, registered under suit number EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026, was filed by the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, naming Governor Adeleke, the Accord Party, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as respondents.

A second suit, designated as suit number EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, was submitted by Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who has similarly named Adeleke, INEC, and the Accord Party in the petition.

Ejes Gist News has learned, that the public display of these legal notices represents a routine procedural step required before full hearings can commence.

The respondents must still be formally served before proceedings begin. Governor Adeleke currently remains the officially declared winner of the election, with the tribunal yet to publish the detailed grounds of either petition or issue any formal rulings on the matters.
