The Lagos State Government has ordered the immediate closure and suspension of activities at the Kiddies section of Wonderland Lagos.
Why the closure of Wonderland Lagos?
Wonderland Lagos is an event venue, which was built to deliver a holiday experience of fun and excitement to individuals.
Ejes Gist News reports that on December 26, 2022, Popularly known as Boxing day, l a guest was electrocuted.
During a joint inspection with the Lagos State Task Force team, the Director General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola, stated that the intervention was necessary to prevent further exposure of attendees, particularly children, to prevent accidents that could result in injuries and deaths.
According to him, the owner of the event venue, Mr. Ezekiel Adamu, refused to implement safety measures prescribed by the commission despite meetings held at the beginning of the project, following an initial safety inspection exercise conducted at the venue to discuss safety violations observed within the facility.
The director general stated that no individual or organisation was greater than the state and that the government would ensure the safety of Lagosians.
