Patience Jonathan Intervenes in Rivers Crisis, Sends Message to Wike and Fubara

The wife of former Nigerian President, Patience Jonathan, has intervened in the present political crisis in Rivers State.

In a video published by AIT and seen by our reporter on Friday, the former first lady asked Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to give peace another try.

Mama Peace, as she’s affectionately known, also urged that it was time for government and that they should sheath their swords. “We at this point plead that election has come and gone, and now is the time for governance,” according to her.

“As a peace advocate, I would like to appeal to the warring parties in Rivers State to put down their swords and give peace a chance. “Understanding that no development can occur in a chaotic environment.

As a political office holder, keep in mind that power is fleeting and will eventually go away. “Therefore, holding onto power after expiration of your tenure is an invitation to violence and anarchy,” according to her.
