Breaking: Olumide Akpata Loses Polling Unit to Asue Ighodalo

Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Olumide Akpata, has suffered a defeat at his polling unit in the ongoing Edo State Governorship Election 2024. The results from Polling Unit 11, Ward 06, Oredo Local Government Area (LGA), show that Akpata lost to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

The official results from Asue Ighodalo and Olumide Akpata polling unit are as follows:

  • PDP: 41 votes
  • APC: 19 votes
  • LP: 32 votes

Akpata’s loss at his own polling unit is seen as a significant development in the closely contested election, where three main candidates, representing the PDP, All Progressives Congress (APC), and Labour Party, are in the race for the governorship position.

As the results continue to be collated across the state, all eyes remain on the final outcome, which will determine the next leader of Edo State
