Another big win for APC presidential candidate as LP Governorship Candidate dumped Peter Obi.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has welcomed the Kano Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Bashir Ishaq, into the ruling party.
Dada Olusegun, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), tweeted that Tinubu met Ishaq in Abuja.
Tinubu’s running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, LP Deputy Governorship Candidate, and Peter Obi’s Kano State Campaign Coordinator were present at the meeting.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Ishaq defected to the APC because “major northern stakeholders were excluded from the campaign’s decision-making process.”

The source added that “lack of clear direction on the interests of northern Nigeria” was another reason for the defection.
