The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was administered on Tuesday and Monday of last week.

According to the Board, 1,595,779 candidates registered for the exam at 708 CBT centres in 105 examination cities across the nation.

The Board noted that the released results did not include candidates who have been rescheduled to take their examination on Saturday, April 6; candidates who were absent during the examination; candidates whose results are being investigated; and visually impaired candidates whose results are being processed.

It instructed test-takers to text UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number they had provided during registration to receive a text message containing their exam results.

In a statement issued by Fabian Benjamin, the Head of Public Affairs and Protocol for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the Board stated: “To check the results, a candidate need only text UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used for registration, and the result will be returned via text message.

“It should also be noted that the released results, when checked by candidates, would indicate their status.

“For candidates who were absent, rescheduled, or under investigation, for example, the response would be: YOU WERE ABSENT, RESCHEDULED, OR UNDER INVESTIGATION. Consequently, only candidates who do not fall into any of these categories will be returned.”
