INEC voids REC’s declaration of APC’s Binani as winner of Adamawa gov poll.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended an invitation to Barrister Hudu Yunusa, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Adamawa, in relation to the declaration of the election that took place on Saturday.
As per the official Twitter handle of the commission, the disclosure was made on Sunday.

It has been observed that the procedure was evidently incomplete prior to his declaration.
The Commission has been made aware of an alleged announcement of a victor in the Adamawa gubernatorial race by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), despite the fact that the electoral process has yet to be finalised.
The decision made by the REC can be perceived as an encroachment on the authority of the Returning Officer. The aforementioned statement holds no legal validity or enforceability. As a result, the compilation of outcomes from the supplementary election has been officially halted.
The Commission cordially invites the REC, Returning Officer, and all other parties involved to promptly convene at the Commission’s Headquarters located in Abuja. A comprehensive statement will be released in the near future.
