FG reveals why it didn’t wade into Adamawa election controversy
On Wednesday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, offered an explanation for President Muhammadu Buhari’s lack of intervention in the recent Adamawa gubernatorial election controversy.
The responsibility of handling the issue of the suspended Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mallam Hudu Yunusa Ari, lies with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as stated by Mohammed.
According to the Lai Mohammed, President Buhari did not intervene in the matter as he prefers not to micromanage any government institution.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed during a press briefing at the Presidential Villa in Abuja that he had no knowledge of a petition urging President Buhari to take action against an INEC staff member, Ari. This revelation was made while Mohammed was discussing the results of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

It has been reported that Ari prematurely declared Aisha Binani, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the election, even though the collation process had not yet been completed.
