Fubara to Swear In Newly Elected Local Government Chairmen Barely 24 Hours After Polls

 

Governor Siminalayi Fubara is set to swear in the newly elected local government chairmen today, following their successful elections held on Saturday. This was confirmed in a statement by Dr. Tammy Danagogo, the Secretary to the State Government.

 

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission had declared the winners of the elections, with 22 out of 23 local governments being secured by the Action Peoples Party (APP).

The statement reads: “His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, will today, Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4 p.m.”

The newly elected chairmen, along with one guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 p.m. at the venue.
