Former Anambra Deputy Speaker Harford Oseke Passes Away at 64

 

Harford Oseke, a former Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, has died at the age of 64. The former lawmaker reportedly collapsed while engaging in his daily exercise routine at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Monday, August 19.

Despite efforts by bystanders to revive him, Oseke was pronounced dead shortly after the incident. His body has been transferred to the Apex Medical Centre in Awka.

Former Anambra deputy speaker, Harford Oseke slumps, dies.

 

Born in August 1960, Oseke was a native of Umuawulu in the Awka South Local Government Area. He held a law degree and recently completed a Ph.D. in Public Administration.

 

Besides his political career, Oseke was a prominent figure in the freight forwarding industry in Port Harcourt and was known for his involvement in the importation of fishing feeds into Nigeria.

 

Oseke was a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and contested for a seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly, where he served as the Majority Leader before becoming the Deputy Speaker. His death marks a significant loss to the political community in Anambra State.
