The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled a citizen-engagement platform, Ask AA, designed to give Nigerians a direct channel to ask questions, present their demands and share concerns about the country’s challenges.

The portal is scheduled to go live at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, according to a statement issued by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the ADC Presidential Campaign Council.

The free-access platform will allow Nigerians to engage with Atiku on issues including the economy, insecurity, technology, job creation and his proposals for making life more affordable.

Under the initiative, Atiku will personally respond to questions submitted through the platform, with members of his media team also assisting in providing answers.

The campaign said the initiative was designed to bridge the information gap between voters and the ADC presidential candidate by providing citizens with easier access to his policy positions, political record and plans for the country.

Speaking on the initiative, Shaibu said the platform was intended to bring Atiku closer to Nigerians through a practical approach to citizen engagement and problem-solving.

“The objective of this initiative is to bring Atiku Abubakar closer to the electorate through a practical, problem-solving platform,” Shaibu said.

He added that the initiative reflected Atiku’s commitment to leveraging modern technology to make governance more efficient, secure and effective.

Atiku Promises Direct Engagement With Nigerians

Announcing the platform on his social media accounts, Atiku explained that he conceived the initiative because he believes leadership should involve continuous dialogue between elected officials and the people they serve.

According to the former vice president, governance has often appeared distant to ordinary citizens because of bureaucratic barriers that limit direct communication between leaders and the electorate.

He argued that Nigeria’s greatest resource was its people and stressed the need to remove barriers preventing citizens from contributing to national development.

“That is why I am launching Ask AA—a direct citizen-engagement platform built for transparency, accountability and dialogue. No filters, no intermediaries,” Atiku said.

He encouraged Nigerians to use the platform to question his economic record, examine his policy proposals on technology, security and employment, and offer suggestions on how to address the country’s challenges.

Atiku said he was open to receiving policy criticisms, questions and recommendations from citizens, adding that their contributions would help shape conversations about the country’s future.

Atiku to Personally Call Selected Citizens

Beyond responding to questions submitted through the portal, the ADC presidential candidate disclosed that he would personally call selected participants who provide their contact details.

He said the calls would enable him to hear directly from Nigerians about their personal experiences, challenges and the problems affecting their daily lives.

Atiku maintained that transparent and technology-driven governance should begin with how political leaders listen to citizens, rather than remain a promise for the future.

“A transparent, technology-driven government is not a promise for tomorrow. It begins with how we listen to you today,” he said.

Platform to Reach Nigerians Without Internet Access

In a move aimed at expanding participation beyond internet users, the Atiku campaign said it planned to introduce a radio interface to enable communities without internet access to engage with the initiative.

The arrangement is expected to provide an alternative channel for citizens who may otherwise be unable to use the online platform.

The campaign did not provide further details on how the proposed radio interface would operate.

Atiku concluded his announcement by inviting Nigerians to participate in the initiative and submit questions they would like him to address.

“I’m logged in and ready. If you could ask me one question, what would it be?” he asked.

The launch of Ask AA comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with presidential contenders seeking ways to communicate their policies, engage voters and present their plans for addressing Nigeria’s economic and security challenges.
