AFCON 2023 qualifiers Draw
In Group A of the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria will face Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, and Sao Tome and Principe.
The Confederation of African Football director of competitions, Samson Adamu, presided over the draw in South Africa on Tuesday, which included South African football legend Lucas Radebe and former Cote d’Ivoire international Salomon Kalou.

There will be 32 countries competing for a spot in the African football showpiece in Cote d’Ivoire, with many ambitious teams hoping to emulate the efforts of reigning champions Senegal in 2021.
The Lions of Teranga, who are hoping to defend their title, will have their work cut out for them in Group L, which includes Benin Republic, Mozambique, and Rwanda.

If Ghana is to qualify for the tournament for the 24th time, they must get past Madagascar, Angola, and the Central African Republic in Group E.
South Africa, the 1996 African kings, would like to return to Afcon after missing the previous edition. Nonetheless, they must overcome a significant challenge in Group K, which includes Morocco, Zimbabwe, and Libya.

Kenya has been assigned to Group C, which includes Cameroon, Namibia, and Burundi.
Despite having already secured their place in the tournament, hosts Cote d’Ivoire will face Zambia, Comoros, and Lesotho, implying that only one other team from their group will qualify.

Both Kenya and Zimbabwe will be considered losers and eliminated from the competition if the suspensions imposed on them are not lifted two weeks before their first matchday of the qualifiers.
The qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations begin in June 2022.
