The party’s State Publicity Secretary, Offor Okorie, signed and issued a press statement on Wednesday in Umuahia announcing the suspension of the party leader.
The Party leadership implied that Emenike and Ononogbu conspired with the outgoing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in Abia to thwart the efforts of devoted party members to deliver the state to the progressive party in the recently concluded general elections.
The Abia APC noted that the pair’s undemocratic and immoral behaviour contributed to the party’s poor performance and abject failure in the recently concluded elections held in the state.
The statement read, “The Party hereby refutes the alleged suspension of party leaders by the Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu-led factional executive committee on the orders of Ikechi Emenike; it is the statement of a drowning man.”
