Tips for a Strong NAUTH Application

Match your specialty exactly. Consultant and resident doctor applicants should name their specialty clearly — the advertisement lists 13 consultant specialties and 12 resident specialties, and a vague application will be harder to place.
Confirm your licence is current. For every clinical cadre, a current practising licence is a stated requirement, not a bonus. Renew it before you apply.
Get your referees lined up early. Three referee reports are required at the point of application. Contact your referees before the advertisement closes rather than after.
Use a professional email address. Your email and phone number are your only contact route. Use an address you check daily.
Submit both parts. The advertisement requires a typewritten, addressed application and an online submission. Treating the online form alone as a complete application is a risk.
Apply before the deadline. The window runs six weeks from publication. Given the volume of applications teaching hospitals typically receive, early submission is safer.
