In a condolence message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor commiserated with the late governor’s wife, Roli, their children, the wider Uduaghan family, the Itsekiri nation and the people of Delta State over what he called a painful loss.

Oborevwori reflected on Uduaghan’s tenure in office, saying he contributed substantially to infrastructure development across the state. He characterised the former governor as a leader who set ethnic differences aside in pursuit of Delta State’s overall development.

Before becoming governor in May 2007, Uduaghan served as Commissioner for Health between 1999 and 2003 and as Secretary to the State Government from 2003 to 2007. He was returned for a second term and left office in 2015.

According to the governor, Uduaghan’s time in public service left a favourable record in the state, and his death represents a loss to Delta and to the country as a whole.

Oborevwori prayed for the peaceful repose of the former governor’s soul and asked God to comfort his wife, children, other family members, the Itsekiri nation and everyone mourning him.
