Kwankwaso Predicts Landslide Victory for Tinubu in 2027
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has predicted an overwhelming victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, citing what he described as growing support for the President across political party lines.
Kwankwaso, Director of Finance at the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, said the increasing involvement of politicians from different political backgrounds in Tinubu’s re-election campaign indicated that a broad political coalition was emerging ahead of the 2027 general election.
He expressed confidence that the participation of prominent political figures associated with parties such as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party would strengthen Tinubu’s chances of securing a decisive victory.
According to him, the inauguration of the President’s campaign council reflected the growing momentum behind Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
“To me, the inauguration of the Campaign Council is like a congregation celebrating the re-election of President Tinubu back to office,” Kwankwaso said.
He added, “What else remains when the same Nigerians we are supposed to campaign for have collectively come forward in unison for one person—Tinubu?”
The APC chieftain argued that the participation of politicians from different parties demonstrated increasing acceptance of Tinubu’s leadership and economic reform agenda.
He expressed optimism that the emerging political alignment would translate into significant electoral gains for the President in 2027.
Kwankwaso Defends Tinubu’s Economic Reforms
Kwankwaso also referenced comments by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, and other political figures, arguing that their assessments of the administration’s economic policies reflected an understanding of the challenges facing Nigeria and the realities of the global economy.
He maintained that the support Tinubu was attracting from politicians across party lines was unprecedented in Nigeria’s political history.
“It has never happened in Nigeria’s political history that one man could attract nearly all opposition parties, not only opposition politicians, but people who have never agreed to sit together yet, because of Tinubu, they have accepted to come on board and pursue a common goal,” he said.
The politician argued that the 2027 presidential election should not be viewed solely as a contest to secure Tinubu’s political future but also as an important moment for determining the direction of Nigeria’s economy.
He maintained that the President deserved another term to consolidate his policies, despite the economic difficulties associated with the ongoing reforms.
Kwankwaso Predicts APC Gains in Kano
Turning to Kano State, Kwankwaso expressed confidence that the political cooperation he said was emerging at the national level would also take shape in the state.
He predicted that influential political figures in Kano would work together to support Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The APC chieftain also expressed support for a second term for Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his deputy, Murtala Sule Garo.
He suggested that the anticipated political alignment would strengthen the party’s prospects in the state as preparations for the 2027 general election gather momentum.
Kwankwaso’s prediction comes as political parties and their leaders continue to position themselves ahead of the next general election, with alliances and negotiations expected to play a significant role in shaping the contest.
Kwankwaso’s forecast represents his political assessment of the 2027 election, with the eventual outcome to be determined by voters.
