“His time is up, nothing we can do” – Selman says top Nigerian politician will die
Apostle Joshua Selman, founder and senior pastor of Eternity Network International, known as Koinonia Global, has said he received a revelation that a high-ranking Nigerian politician is approaching death, describing a scene of people gathering for the person’s burial.
The claim was made during a church service and captured in a clip that has since gone viral on social media.
The declaration was made on Sunday, September 27, 2026 during prayers for the sick.
“I’m not a prophet of doom and I wish I didn’t have to say this, but I’m seeing a high-ranking politician in this nation. His time is up. I’m seeing him going. I’m seeing people gather to bury the person,” Selman told the congregation.
The cleric said he initially struggled over whether to make the revelation public because of the nature of the message, but felt compelled to speak after what he described as an instruction from God. He insisted he did not intend to celebrate anyone’s death or cause fear.
“The reason why we announce this is not because we rejoice over whatever it is that is happening. It’s so that God will comfort the family, one, and then prepare the heart. But there’s nothing that can be done. It’s time. It’s over,” he said.
Selman also rejected suggestions that the declaration was made to attract attention or publicity.
“I don’t prophesy to impress. I don’t have that time for all those games. But the Lord has impressed on my spirit, and it will not let me rest,” he said.
He did not name the politician, did not say which office or party the person belongs to, and gave no timeline for when the event he described would take place.
As of Tuesday, September 29, no politician had been publicly identified in connection with the statement, and neither Selman nor his ministry had released further details.
The remarks have attracted significant attention online, with clips of the service widely shared.
