Kira Taiwo, one of the daughters of the veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, who was popularly known as Ogogo, has shared a touching and emotional message exchange that she had with her late father prior to his passing.
Kira made the conversation public by sharing it on her Instagram Story on Monday, which followed the actor’s death on Sunday at the age of 66.
The text conversation, which was dated July 26, captured Ogogo reassuring his daughter and encouraging her to remain strong during his health challenges.

During the exchange, Ogogo expressed to Kira that witnessing her and her sisters smile provided him with inner strength, while simultaneously urging her not to shed tears.
He wrote:
“How are you? I heard you are crying. Seeing you and your sisters smile is making me strong. If you cry, it will make me sad, and I will start to think.”
The late actor, who was a devout Muslim, further encouraged his daughter to maintain her trust in Allah, writing:
“Be strong. I am strong. Nothing is going to happen to me, insha Allah. If you do, then don’t cry, my princess.”
In her response to her father, Kira insisted that she was not weeping and assured him of her steadfast faith.
She wrote:
“Daddy, I’m not crying oo… don’t mind Haleemah. I trust in Allah, sir. I love you very much,”
To which Ogogo affectionately replied:
“Love u too, my princess.”
Family Appeals and Burial Details
This deeply emotional exchange occurred weeks before the family publicly disclosed that the veteran actor was battling stage-four cancer and issued an appeal for urgent medical assistance.
This Online platform had previously reported that Kira and her sister, Lima Taiwo, had posted separate emotional appeals on Instagram after Ogogo’s medical condition deteriorated significantly.
Lima explained that the family had only discovered the gravity and seriousness of his illness approximately three weeks earlier, as his physical appearance had not initially indicated that he was severely or seriously ill.
Furthermore, Kira had disclosed that her father’s cancer had progressed to stage four. She noted that the hospital responsible for treating him could no longer administer chemotherapy treatments, which prompted the family to search for alternative medical options.
Ogogo passed away at approximately 3 pm on Sunday, according to an official burial announcement that was shared by veteran actor Jide Kosoko.
The late icon will be laid to rest in his hometown of Ilaro, situated in Ogun State, on Monday.
A lying-in-state ceremony has been scheduled for 11 am at the Pavilion in Ilaro. Meanwhile, the Ilaro Muslim Community announced that the formal burial prayer will take place at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground at 10 am.
The respected actor will be buried in strict accordance with Islamic rites.
Ogogo remained a highly prominent figure throughout the Yoruba film industry, building a distinguished career that spanned several decades in his roles as an actor, filmmaker, and director.
