The Civil Defence Correctional Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released a detailed breakdown of its nationwide recruitment exercise, revealing that over 793,000 applicants were disqualified during various stages of the process.

According to official data published by the board, more than 1.8 million Nigerians initially applied for positions across four major paramilitary services, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Correctional Service.   • 1,120,491 applications were successfully completed and processed, advancing to the examination stage.
  • 432,935 applications were recorded as incomplete and did not proceed.
  • 360,923 applicants were disqualified during the shortlisting phase after pre-examination screening checks.

This brings the total number of applicants who either failed to complete their applications or were disqualified to 793,858.

The figures indicate that nearly four out of every ten applicants who initially expressed interest were eliminated before the computer-based test (CBT) stage.

The board also released a national score distribution from the CBT, providing insight into candidate performance levels:
