Tompolo at 55: DOPF Hails Ex-Warlord as Tantita Security Boosts Nigeria’s Oil Production

The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has extended warm felicitations to High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, describing the former militant leader as a “Niger Delta liberator and a renewed force for good” on the occasion of his 55th birthday.

Tantita Security and the Fight Against Oil Theft

The publishers singled out Tompolo’s leadership of Tantita Security Services as a model for community-led security interventions. The company, contracted by the Federal Government to protect oil pipelines in the Niger Delta, has been widely credited with exposing and dismantling sophisticated networks of illegal bunkering and pipeline vandalism.

“Through your leadership in Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, you have demonstrated that sustainable peace is achievable when local knowledge, community trust, and strategic coordination are effectively harnessed,” DOPF stated. “Your efforts have significantly reduced pipeline vandalism and oil theft, thereby strengthening national revenue and restoring confidence in the Niger Delta.”

Since Tantita’s deployment, Nigeria’s crude oil production has rebounded from historic lows, climbing above 1.5 million barrels per day and providing much-needed fiscal breathing room for the Federal Government.
