Violence disrupted the All Progressives Congress (APC) congress in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State after gunmen reportedly attacked Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The incident occurred at Ovade, the designated venue of the party congress in Ethiope-West. Ejes Gist News reports that multiple attendees sustained injuries during the disturbance, according to accounts from party members and local sources.

What Happened at the APC Congress
Eyewitnesses said tensions escalated shortly after Ibori-Suenu arrived at the congress ground. Armed assailants allegedly opened fire and wielded other weapons in an attempt to prevent her from gaining access to the venue.
Security operatives attached to the federal lawmaker intervened, and the attack was reportedly repelled. The full extent of injuries has not been officially disclosed.

Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu is the daughter of former Delta State Governor, James Ibori. She represents Ethiope Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
