A family dispute in the quiet community of Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe has led to the destruction of a house and car.

The incident, which has been the center of attention, recently concluded with a verdict at the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court.

Knowledge Jani, a 21-year-old resident of Shackleton Mine, was sentenced to 4 years in prison, with one year suspended, after being found guilty of malicious property damage.

His violent outburst occurred on April 22, 2024, when a heated argument at his father’s home spiraled out of control.

Jani, in a fit of rage, accused his father and stepmother of practicing witchcraft, which he claimed was responsible for his ongoing illness.

Enraged, Jani attacked his father’s Nissan Sunny, shattering its windows and severely damaging its exterior. He then siphoned fuel from the vehicle and used it to set his father’s house on fire, before igniting the already damaged car.

The damage from the fire was extensive, with losses estimated at USD 14,000. Emergency responders were able to contain the flames, but not before the property had been significantly destroyed. Jani was arrested at the scene following a distress call from his father.

The court’s ruling, eagerly awaited by both the community and the affected family, culminated in Jani receiving a 4-year sentence, with one year suspended on the condition that he does not commit a similar offense in that time, leaving him to serve an effective 3 years in prison.

Independence Anniversary: Tackle Hardship, Hunger Immediately – Accord Party Tells Tinubu

As Nigeria marks her 64th independence anniversary, the Accord has charged those in leadership to think out of the box in order to restore national security, public safety and prosperity in the country.

The party said this in its message to Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 64th Independence Day celebrations.

The National Chairman of Accord, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, in a statement on behalf of the party’s leadership and members, hailed the courage and patriotism of Nigeria’s founding fathers and statesmen who fought and achieved the country’s independence.

The party said it was grateful that the vision and labour of the founding fathers for a strong, united nation was not in vain despite unprecedented political, economic, social and religious challenges.

“The Accord Party urges Nigerians to use the occasion of this 64th Independence anniversary as an opportunity to renew our faith in the fatherland and rededicate ourselves in building a strong, stable, united, progressive, prosperous, equitable and decent democratic society.

“The state of the nation is bad. There is hunger in the land and confusion in governance at all levels.

“We should pray in one accord for divine intervention in our multifarious political, economic and security challenges that have impeded the nation’s democratic process.

“It is time to take governance seriously bearing in mind that the security and welfare of the people are the primary purpose of government as enshrined in Section 14(2)b of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended.

“Nigerians desire and deserve dividends of democracy to assuage their sufferings.

“Accord urges governments at all levels to take immediate steps to tackle the perennial economic hardship and insecurity in the country.

“They should think out of the box and restore national security, public safety and prosperity. This is the only way that the labour of our heroes past shall not be in vain. ”

Accord said it would continue to champion good governance, hold public officers accountable and ensure sustainable democracy and development in the country.

“This way we shall replace pessimism with optimism and look forward to the future with renewed confidence,” it added.

“Vigilance is the price of liberty. Let us protect our hard earned democracy.”

  • Understanding The Bullish Harami Pattern: A Guide For Traders

Trading can often be a daunting task, but recognizing specific patterns can provide essential insights for decision-making. One of these patterns is the Bullish Harami, a formation that frequently signals a shift in momentum. By identifying this pattern, traders can better navigate potential changes in market trends.

Technical analysis relies heavily on candlestick patterns to interpret market activity, and the Bullish Harami is a key player in this approach. This pattern’s ability to indicate a possible reversal from a downward trend makes it a valuable tool for traders seeking to capitalize on market shifts.

In this guide, we’ll dive deep into the bullish harami pattern, examining its structure, implications, and how it can be integrated into trading strategies. From identifying the pattern to effectively applying it, here’s everything you need to know.

How to Recognize the Bullish Harami Pattern

To successfully spot the Bullish Harami on a chart, traders must be attentive to several key details:

    • Identify a Downtrend: The presence of a Bullish Harami is more meaningful when it occurs after a sustained period of declining prices.
    • Observe the First Candle: The initial candle should be long and bearish, indicating strong selling activity.
    • Analyze the Second Candle: The second candle must be smaller, bullish, and entirely contained within the body of the first candle. This shift demonstrates a potential pause or reversal in the downward trend.

Spotting this pattern requires practice, but with experience, traders can become adept at recognizing it and using it to their advantage.

Implications of the Bullish Harami for Market Participants

The Bullish Harami pattern signals a potential change in market dynamics, suggesting that sellers are losing dominance and buyers may soon take over. This shift is crucial for traders seeking to identify entry points for long positions, as it often marks the early stages of a bullish trend reversal.

One of the advantages of using this pattern is that it offers a relatively low-risk entry point. Traders can place stop-loss orders just below the lowest point of the first candle, thereby limiting potential losses if the market doesn’t reverse as anticipated. It’s important, however, to wait for confirmation—such as increased trading volume or additional bullish signals—before making any trading decisions based solely on the Bullish Harami.

Incorporating the Bullish Harami into Your Trading Plan

Integrating the Bullish Harami into a comprehensive trading strategy can be highly effective. Here’s how to utilize this pattern for maximum impact:

    1. Entry Signals: Traders should consider initiating positions when the Bullish Harami pattern appears, especially when confirmed by other indicators or chart patterns. This confirmation helps validate the potential reversal.
    2. Setting Stop-Loss and Target Levels: Place stop-loss orders below the low of the first candle to manage risk. For take-profit targets, monitor resistance levels or use trailing stops to maximize gains as the trend progresses.
    3. Combining with Other Indicators: For increased accuracy, combine the Bullish Harami with indicators like moving averages, RSI, or MACD. This will help confirm the strength of the potential reversal and improve decision-making.

Real-World Examples of the Bullish Harami Pattern

The Bullish Harami has proven effective in numerous real-world trading scenarios. For example, during a downturn in the stock market, this pattern often preceded a sharp rally, providing an early signal for traders to enter long positions. Similarly, in forex trading, the Bullish Harami has accurately predicted upward reversals in currency pairs, such as USD/JPY and EUR/USD, demonstrating its versatility across different asset classes.

These examples highlight the importance of recognizing and acting on the Bullish Harami pattern, as it can offer valuable trading opportunities.

Challenges and Limitations of Using the Bullish Harami

Despite its usefulness, the Bullish Harami is not without its challenges. One of the most common pitfalls is mistaking this pattern for a genuine reversal signal in volatile markets. False signals can lead to premature trades, resulting in unnecessary losses.

Additionally, over-relying on this pattern without considering broader market trends or additional analysis can be detrimental. Always incorporate other technical and fundamental indicators to validate the signal before making trading decisions. Lastly, trading psychology plays a vital role—patience and discipline are essential to avoid falling into traps set by false patterns.

Advice for Beginners Learning the Bullish Harami

For traders just starting, mastering the Bullish Harami can be a game-changer. Here’s some advice:

    1. Start with Demo Accounts: Practice spotting the Bullish Harami in a demo trading environment to build familiarity and confidence without risking real money.
    2. Expand Your Knowledge: Don’t limit yourself to just the Bullish Harami. Study other candlestick patterns and indicators to develop a comprehensive trading strategy.
    3. Stay Informed: Continuously monitor market news and developments, as external factors can influence the effectiveness of the Bullish Harami.

    Conclusion

The Bullish Harami pattern is a valuable tool that traders can use to identify potential reversals in bearish trends, offering insights into the changing dynamics of buyer and seller dominance. However, it should not be used in isolation. When combined with other technical tools and analysis, the Bullish Harami can significantly enhance your trading strategy and decision-making process.

By understanding the nuances of this pattern and integrating it into your trading toolkit, you can better navigate the complexities of the market and seize opportunities as they arise.

  • Israel-Iran latest: Iran launches massive missile attack on Israel, as IDF vows ‘consequences

Israel-Iran latest: Iran launches massive missile attack on Israel, as IDF vows ‘consequences

In an unprecedented escalation of violence, Iran launched a large-scale missile attack on Israel early Tuesday morning, igniting fears of a broader regional conflict. The attack, which targeted several key locations in northern and central Israel, was confirmed by both Iranian and Israeli officials, marking one of the most significant assaults on the Jewish state in recent memory.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), dozens of missiles were fired from Iranian-backed militias stationed in Syria and Lebanon, with some missiles also suspected to have been launched from within Iran itself. The barrage triggered air raid sirens across several Israeli cities, forcing citizens to seek shelter in bomb shelters. The IDF’s Iron Dome defense system successfully intercepted many of the missiles, but reports indicate that some made impact, causing significant damage to infrastructure and several injuries.

    Israel-Iran latest: IDF Promises Retaliation

In response to the attack, the IDF issued a stern warning, vowing to retaliate with full force. “Iran’s aggression will not go unanswered,” said an IDF spokesperson. “There will be consequences, and Israel will not tolerate such brazen attacks on its sovereignty.” While Israeli officials did not provide details on their planned response, military analysts believe that Israel may target Iranian military assets in Syria and possibly within Iran itself, escalating the already tense standoff.

Rising Tensions in the Middle East

The missile attack comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, particularly over Iran’s nuclear program and its growing influence in the region. Israel has long viewed Iran’s military presence in Syria as a direct threat, leading to periodic airstrikes on Iranian targets in the war-torn country. However, this latest attack marks a significant shift, as Iran appears to have taken a more direct role in the confrontation.

Iranian officials have justified the missile attack as retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on Iranian military sites in Syria in recent weeks. “This is a message to Israel that any aggression will be met with a strong response,” said a senior Iranian military official.

    Israel-Iran latest: International Reactions

The international community has reacted with concern to the escalating violence. The United Nations called for restraint, urging both nations to avoid further escalation. “We are deeply concerned about the potential for a broader conflict in the region,” said a UN spokesperson. “We call on all parties to cease hostilities and engage in dialogue.”

The United States, a key ally of Israel, has condemned Iran’s actions and reaffirmed its support for Israel’s right to defend itself. “The U.S. stands with Israel in the face of this unprovoked attack,” said a statement from the U.S. State Department. “Iran must immediately cease its hostile actions, or it will face consequences on the international stage.”

Israel-Iran latest: Fears of a Regional Conflict

The missile attack has heightened fears of a broader conflict in the Middle East, as other regional players, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza, could potentially become involved. Both groups have close ties to Iran and have previously engaged in hostilities with Israel.

Israeli military experts warn that this latest incident could spiral into a full-scale war if not carefully managed. “This is a very dangerous situation,” said one analyst. “With so many actors involved and so much at stake, the potential for a broader regional war is very real.

As the situation unfolds, all eyes are on how Israel will respond to the Iranian missile barrage, with many fearing that the region is on the brink of a major military confrontation. The coming days will be critical in determining whether the situation escalates or if diplomacy can prevail.

UCL: Arteta Names Only Player In History To Transform Two Different Clubs

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has claimed Ronaldinho is the only player in history who has single-handedly transformed two clubs – Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Arteta played alongside Ronaldinho at PSG and has hailed his significant impact at two elite teams.

“He was a huge talent,” Arteta said.

Why Do People Use the Black Market?

    • Favorable Rates: Higher than official rates.
    • Accessibility: Easier to obtain foreign currency without stringent regulatory requirements.

    Factors Influencing Black Market Rates

Government decisions on interest rates, inflation control, and forex regulations by the CBN directly affect the naira’s value. These policies can stabilize or destabilize the exchange rates.

    Supply and Demand:
The availability of foreign currency versus its demand significantly influences exchange rates. A shortage of foreign currency or high demand leads to naira depreciation.

    Political Stability:

    Global Economic Conditions:
Global market conditions, such as oil prices, international economic trends, and global inflation rates, influence the naira’s value. For instance, a significant drop in oil prices negatively impacts Nigeria’s economy.

Comparing Dollar to Naira Official and Black Market Rates

    Why the Disparity?

    • Supply and Demand: Limited availability in the official market drives people to the black market.
    • Regulatory Restrictions: CBN imposes limits on forex availability, leading to higher black market rates.

    • Inflation: Increase costs for imported goods.
    • Investment: Deter foreign investment due to economic instability.
    • Trade: Benefit exporters while imposing higher costs on importers.

    Using the Parallel Market Safely

    Tips for Transactions:

Kay also received a 26 year jail term.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the duo were convicted for the murder of 66-year-old Mynhardt Maloyi.

The victim was found inside his house on Henry Street in Graaff-Reinet with multiple stab wounds to his upper body in November 2022.

Nompelo, who was Maloyi’s niece, was the beneficiary of several insurance policies, which she had taken out on him.

The total insurance was worth R165,000.

“Evidence presented in court revealed that she orchestrated the murder by soliciting the assistance of her neighbour, Kay, promising him a fee of R20,000 for his involvement,” said NPA spokesperson Luxolo Tyali.

Maloyi was killed at his Umasizakhe township home in Graaff-Reinet on November 25, 2022.

On the night of the murder, Nompelo left her child with another neighbour, and together with Kay, armed with a knife, went to the Mynhardt’s home.

“Acting as his primary caregiver, Nompelo gained access to the house.

“Once inside, the two accosted Mynhardt, bound his hands and feet with shoelaces, struck him on the head with a blunt object, and stabbed him multiple times in the neck.

He succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.”

The NPA reported that his body was discovered the next morning after Nompelo pretended to be concerned and asked a neighbour to check on her uncle while delivering groceries.

“After the murder, Nompelo submitted claims against the insurance policies for financial gain.”

However, her involvement in the crime soon came to light when Kay, dissatisfied with the incomplete payment of his promised fee, began threatening her.

“In a desperate move, Nompelo sought assistance from others to either eliminate Kay or lend her the balance of the promised fee.”

The State had argued for a life sentence, according to the NPA, but the court found that there were compelling and significant circumstances that called for a lesser sentence.

“The prosecution intends to appeal what they deem an inappropriately lenient sentence.”

Eastern Cape Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Barry Madolo commended the teams for a successful prosecution.

“The conviction reflects our serious stance on premeditated murders committed for self-serving insurance gains, a troubling national trend.”

EPL: ‘No Top Player At Man Utd, Nobody Carries The Team’ – Van Basten

Netherlands legend, Marco van Basten, has lashed out at Manchester United following their poor start to this season.

Speaking on Ziggo Sport, Van Basten claimed Erik ten Hag’s squad does not have match winners.

United have won only two matches in the Premier League this season.

Their 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend saw the Red Devils slide down to 13th in the table.

Van Basten said: “Name me one top player at Manchester United? At every club you see a top player.

“(Marcus) Rashford is very bad. Bruno Fernandes is a good player, (Andre) Onana is a good goalkeeper. That’s it.

“Casemiro is done. (Alejandro) Garnacho is a decent player. But nobody carries that team.”

Activist Martins Otse (VeryDarkMan) Apologizes to Femi Falana Over Bribery Allegations

Popular Nigerian activist, Martins Otse, also popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has issued a public apology to human rights lawyer, Femi Falana over bribery allegations he made against him.

This follows the threat of a defamation lawsuit by Falana and his son, musician Falz, after VDM shared an audio clip allegedly implicating Falana in securing a presidential pardon for crossdresser Bobrisky in exchange for a bribe of ₦10 million.

During his appearance before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions on Monday, VeryDarkMan admitted that he no longer believed Falana was involved in the bribery scheme. He extended an apology for tarnishing the senior lawyer’s reputation.

Shortly before this, VDM had reached out to Falz, urging him to drop the defamation lawsuit and join forces with him to tackle corruption in Nigeria.

Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan Saga Unnecessary, Nigeria Has Real Challenges – Buhari’s Ex-Aide Slams NASS

A former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has described the National Assembly’s investigative hearing into the saga between two social media influencers as unnecessary.

Ahmad said Nigeria has real national issues of importance that the National Assembly should attend to and not the saga between crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky, and Martins Ortse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

Posting on X, Ahmad wrote: “Forming a National Assembly committee to investigate the VDM and Bobrisky saga is completely unnecessary.

“Nigeria is currently grappling with far more pressing challenges, and this issue holds no real national importance, at all.”

VeryDarkMan had released an audio of Bobrisky claiming to have bribed some officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, with N15 million.

In the audio, the crossdresser claimed that the money was meant to drop money laundering charges against him.

Bobrisky also disclosed that his ‘godfather’ ensured he never spent his six months jail term in Kirikiri prison.

The revelation made by VeryDarkMan led to an investigative hearing by the House of Representatives on Monday.

While VeryDarkMan appeared before the committee, Bobrisky sent his lawyer in his absence.

During the hearing, both the EFCC and Nigeria Correctional Service, NCoS, denied any wrong doings.
