He emphasised that the Ministry of Petroleum operates under the supervision of President Tinubu, with two ministers appointed to oversee its functions.

The President has never called himself the Minister of Petroleum; it’s you people in the media,” Onanuga remarked. “We have two ministers, and as far as this President is concerned, we have two ministers of petroleum, with one of them focusing on gas.”

Onanuga highlighted the government’s renewed emphasis on gas, stating that it is an area Nigeria had previously neglected. “Nigeria is more of a gas country than an oil country; President Tinubu is focusing on gas,” he added.

Referencing former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Onanuga noted, “Recently, Obasanjo said he made a mistake during his time by not focusing on gas, and Tinubu is rectifying that by ensuring we focus on gas.

He concluded by stating that President Tinubu supervises all his ministers and is ultimately in charge of the entire administration.
