Breaking: Tinubu Appoints Didi Esther Walson-Jack as New Head of Service, Replaces Folasade Yemi-Esan

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appointed Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the new head of the civil service, with the appointment to take effect from August 14, 2024.

This was made known on Wednesday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity. A career civil servant herself, Didi Esther Walson-Jack is a Federal Permanent Secretary since 2017 and had served various times at different Ministries.

She will take over from the incumbent, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, when she retires on 13th August 2024. President Tinubu tasked Walson-Jack to introduce innovation that can effectively reform the values of the service and instill integrity and commitment into the rules and regulations guiding the service.

Mrs. Walson-Jack was appointed as Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and has served at different Ministries.

“The new appointee will take over from the incumbent Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, who is due to retire on 13th August, 2024, the statement read.”

President Tinubu also appreciated the outgoing HoS for her commitment and stewardship.

“President Tinubu, while thanking the out-going Head of Service for her stewardship, tasked the in-coming Head of Service to discharge her duties with innovative flair, integrity and rigorous adherence to extant rules and regulations of the Civil Service of the Federation,” it added.
