As of Sunday, Diri stands at the forefront with an impressive 137,909 votes, while his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Timipre Sylva, trails behind with 73,503 votes.
The anticipation for the final outcome was heightened as INEC made the unexpected decision to postpone the collation until Monday.
Two crucial local governments, Brass and Southern Ijaw, held the key to the yet-to-be-announced results. In Monday’s collation, Sylva emerged victorious in Brass, securing 18,431 votes against Diri’s 12,602.

Meanwhile, Southern Ijaw revealed a PDP lead, with 24,685 votes, compared to APC’s 18,174.
Earlier, loyalists of Diri had gathered at the INEC office in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, alleging manipulation of results by the APC in favour of Sylva.
