Sultan of Sokoto Alive and Well: MPAC Slams Death Rumours, Calls for Investigation

The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) has refuted circulating rumours claiming the death of the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, describing them as “unfounded.”

According to Disu Kamor, executive chairman of MPAC, the Sultan is in good health and continues to fulfill his responsibilities as a spiritual leader to millions across Nigeria and beyond.

Kamor stated, “The Sultan is alive and well, fully committed to his role.”

MPAC has urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours and advised the public to verify information before sharing. The organization emphasized that such baseless speculations only serve to mislead the public and create unnecessary panic.

In addition, MPAC has called on law enforcement agencies to investigate the source of the rumour, identify and prosecute those responsible, and implement measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The organization highlighted the harm that false information can cause, urging a collective effort to counter its spread.
