Kano state’s Senator Jibrin joins Kalu in race for 10th senate president
As a result of Senator Barau Jibrin’s announcement that he intends to run for the top legislative position, the competition to become the Senate President of the 10th National Assembly has become more intense.
The lawmaker representing Kano North Senatorial District disclosed his intentions during a conversation with journalists in Abuja, noting that the official announcement will be made in a few days.

This statement was made less than twenty-four hours after Senator Orji Uzor Kalu stated that he was the most qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Senate President.
In the meantime, Senator Jibrin described himself as the most senior and seasoned Senator-elect vying for leadership of the next Senate.
Senator Jibrin added that neither religious nor ethnic sentiments motivated his ambition; rather, he is vying for the position of tenth senate president on the basis of his capacity, expertise, and experience.
