INEC declares Obi winner in Plateau
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has been declared the winner of the Plateau State presidential election.
Obi won in eleven of the State’s seventeen Local Government Areas, while Tinubu and Atiku each won three LGAs.

The Labour Party candidate won in Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Jos East, Langtang North, Bokkos, Mangu, Bassa, Jos South, Shendam, Pankshin, and Jos North LGAs, while Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the ruling APC, won in Wase, Kanam, and Kanke LGAs, and Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the opposition PDP, won in Quaan Pan, Langtang South,
Prof. Shehu Abdulrahman, the State Returning Officer for the Presidential election, announced that the Labour Party candidate received 466,272 votes.
Tinubu, the candidate of the ruling APC, received 307,195 votes, while Atiku of the opposition PDP received 243,808 votes.
He commended all agents and other key participants for their orderly conduct throughout the process and urged them to do the same in future elections.
In his remarks, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Oliver Agundu, lauded the security agencies for their efforts in ensuring a trouble-free exercise and urged them to continue their support of the commission in the upcoming elections.
He also praised the media for their professionalism in covering the event.
